Lost Dog Alert: old black lab missing, Lookout Mountain, Cody Park Road

Please keep your eyes open for “Scout”, an old black lab who lives at the end of Cody Park Road, Lookout Mountain, near the eastern edge of the Mount Vernon Country Club.  She’s deaf, limps a little, and may suffer from cognitive impairment; she went off chasing scent early this morning and has not been seen since.  She’s wearing a leather collar and tags, with her phone number on it the tags.  She will not bite, and will gladly accept any treat you might have handy.

If you see Scout, please call Bill or Lee King, (303) 526-0349 (home), or (303) 526-0734 (Bill’s cell), or both.

Thanks for your help in re-homing Scout!

  1. Scout returned to her neighborhood the night before last, laid down under the apple tree next to my garage, and passed over the Rainbow Bridge. We found her yesterday morning. She’d had a full day out, visiting all the places on the Mountain that she’d loved, and then had a peaceful end. What more can you ask for? We’ll all miss Scout, but will forever be grateful that she came home, in the end.
